chase-dawsonLocal musician with the Southern Impact Band, Chase Dawson won the John Ritter Tribute Showcase competition this past Friday evening to become the next Ambassador for the Texas Country Music Hall of Fame. He vied for the title with 30 contestants from various cities in Texas, Louisiana and Oklahoma. Dawson performed "My Next Broken Heart," a song made popular by Brooks & Dunn. First runner-up was Hunter Collins from Ore City, Texas; second runner-up was Abby Nabors from Calera, Oklahoma, third runner-up was Mary Clare from Sherman, Texas and selected as the Fan Favorite for the evening was Keaton Bradbury from Marshall, Texas.

The Showcase winner receives a $1000 cash prize, a $500 wardrobe allowance, a scholarship to Linda Davis's Stage Presence 101 Seminar, a recording session at MB Studios, an extension of Arthur Audio, a 2-hour photo session with Star Cravin Studios, a vocal consult & artist development provided by Shawnda Raines Entertainment, 3 songwriting sessions with Bailey Rae, former Showcase winner and semi-finalist on The Voice, interviews with Don Caldwell Show and Keepin it Country Live Internet Radio, an official bio and press kit designed by Jennifer Herron Media/PR, Nashville, Tennessee and appearances on "Country with a Heart" Nashville hosted by Bobby Marquez and at various events throughout the year representing the TCMHOF.
