  • kenny rogers2Celebrating the 20th Anniversary of the Texas Country Music Hall of Fame Awards Show

    The Texas Country Music Hall of Fame announces Kenny Rogers as the 2017 inductee, according to Tommie Ritter Smith, President of the TCMHOF. Also inducted will be Bobbie Lee Nelson, sister and band member of Willie Nelson. The Pioneer Award receipient will be Mo Jelaudarzadeh, owner of Mo's Place in Katy, Texas. Being inducted into the Disc Jockey Hall of Fame will be Tracy Pitcox, who has been employed by KNEL radio since 1986 and also owns Heart of Texas Records.  Emcee for the 20th anniversary Hall of Fame Awards Show will be 2015 TCMHOF inductee Tracy Byrd. Guest performers will be Linda Davis, TG Sheppard, Kelly Lang, Dallas Wayne and Johnny Counterfit. For dates and ticket information, visit the TCMHOF link below.

  • showcase logoAuditions for the John Ritter Tribute Showcase will be held Saturday, June 24, 2017 at the Texas Country Music Hall of Fame. Thirty (30) contestants will be chosen to compete at the finals on Friday, August 11, 2017, at the Carthage Civic Center in Carthage, Texas. The winner will represent the TCMHOF the following year at various concerts and special events and also receive a prize package which includes $1000. For details, click here

Birth/Death Certificates

The City of Carthage has access to birth certificates if the person was born in Texas via online access to the State's computer.  Death must have occurred in the city limits of Carthage for us to be able to issue a death certificate.  Deaths which occurred outside the Carthage city limits must be issued through the Panola County Clerk's Office.  The cost for a birth certificate is $23.00.   A death certificate costs $21.00 for the first one and $4.00 for each additional copy.  In order to obtain a death or birth certificate, it must be for yourself or an immediate family member (parent, sibling, spouse, grandparent, child)  Contact Dana Clark for these services at 903/693-3868, ext. 21.
