The 14th annual Piney Woods Quilt Festival, hosted by Carthage Main Street, the Panola Squares Quilt Club, and the Busy Quilters Guild of Panola County held at the Carthage Civic Center, 1702 S. Adams St., April 21 and 22, 2017. The show is open from 9:00 am - 5:00 pm on Friday and from 9:00 – 4:00 pm on Saturday. Admission is $5.00.
The Piney Woods Quilt Festival enjoys the support of many local and area corporate and individual sponsors who make the show possible. We are deeply grateful to all of them.
The event provides an opportunity for local and area clubs to highlight the growing interest in the skill and artistry of quilting. In addition to classes and supportive instruction to new and experienced quilters, both clubs contribute to various charities including Project Linus and the Susan Komen Foundation. Funds to support these activities are raised through the sale of tickets to win the donation quilt made by the joint membership of the two clubs.
Each year the festival is fortunate to attract an increasing number of quality and interesting quilt projects for display. The event also features a select group of vendors exhibiting new tools fabrics, and products. There will also be a “Country Store” with quilted crafts, small quilts and a potpourri of patterns, blocks, books, and other “no longer loved” items donated from the quilters’ collections.
The Festival is a judged show, enlisting certified professional judges to rank the top quality quilts for prizes and ribbons. Awards also recognize the “Best in Show" and "Viewers Choice." To participate in the Quilt Festival, you may request an entry form from Susie Evers, or you can pick up an entry form from the Carthage City Hall or you can download and print the entry form with the link above. The entry fee is $5.00. Mail the completed form to
